Nanny In Court Over 'Ann Summers Poisoning'

A Sussex nanny has appeared in court charged with attempting to poison Ann Summers boss Jacqueline Gold.

The multi-millionaire lingerie tycoon, 50, hired her to look after her child at her home in Whyteleafe, Surrey.

Allison Cox, 33, from West Sussex, is accused of lacing Ms Gold's food with screen wash.

She was charged with three counts of administering poison with intent to annoy.

She was bailed following her appearance at Redhill Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Ms Cox is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 20 January.

Teen Remanded Over Rhys Jones' Murder
A teenage boy has appeared in court today, charged with the murder of Merseyside schoolboy Rhys Jones. The 17-year-old appeared before Liverpool Magistrates Court charged with the fatal shooting of eleven-year-old Rhys in Croxteth, Liverpool, last August.

Two more arrested over teenager's murder
Two more teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of London teenager Paul Erhahon. The pair, aged 15 and 18, were arrested in east London on Tuesday morning. Paul died after being attacked and stabbed outside a block of flats in Leytonstone on April 6. His 15-year-old friend was also stabbed but survived the attack.

Two arrested over PC murder
Two men have been arrested in Birmingham in connection with the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky. The men were arrested in connection with firearms offences, following a joint operation between West Yorkshire and West Midlands Police on Thursday morning. The men are being held for questioning in Birmingham.

Gunman's Ashes Scattered Near Rothbury
The ashes of 'fugitive' gunman Raoul Moat have been scattered by his family near the spot where he took his own life. Moat died on July 10 in Rothbury following a six-hour stand-off with police. He had been on the run after shooting his former girlfriend, killing her new boyfriend and shooting a police officer.

Abu Hamza remanded in custody
The radical Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri has been remanded in custody at Bow Street Magistrates Court today. Abu Hamza, who faces a total of nine charges, appeared by videolink from Belmarsh prison. He was remanded in prison until July 23. The 46-year-old was arrested on May 27 on an extradition warrant served by the US government.
