UK Drivers Continue To Face The Freeze
The Met Office have issued warnings of ice and heavy snow across Northern Ireland and central Scotland today.
Drivers are being warned to take extra care when out on the road.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is severely affected by fog, while Edinburgh, Inverness and Wick airports remain closed.
Temperatures dropped overnight to -18C (-1F) in Topcliffe, North Yorkshire, however forecasters said milder air would begin to arrive this Thursday.
The recent cold snap has been described as the most significant early snowfall since the early 1990s.
Last week there was widespread disruption across the UK, with airports, roads and schools closed, and trains cancelled.
The freezing weather has also resulted in a number of deaths. So far eight people have passed away due to the dropping temperatures. The most recent weather-related death was that of Peter Andrews, 64, who was discovered in Darlington, County Durham on Sunday.
A police spokesman said it appeared he had died while shovelling snow outside his home.
Met Office warnings for ice and snow remain in place for Northern Ireland, Scotland, northern England and the Midlands, and north and west Wales until Wednesday.
