Clean Up Commences In Flood-Hit Cornwall
A massive clean-up operation is currently underway in Cornwall after flash floods hit the county.
Devon and Cornwall police are said to be dealing with a "major flooding incident" resulting in over 100 homes being evacuated.
Some properties have been left under 3ft of mud.
Many were trapped in their cars and homes after torrential rain left drains in the area overwhelmed.
A total of 25 vehicles were also partially submerged.
Residents, firms and council staff are now assessing the damage as they clear mud and water from premises and streets.
A spokeswoman for Cornwall Council said that it was "too early" to speculate on how much the clean-up operation would cost the local authority.
A number of main roads are still closed due to floods reaching 6ft-high, while train services continue to be suspended due to landslips.
Several schools remain closed and The Eden Project tourist attraction, which was hit by 3ft of floodwater in places, will be closed for at least a week.
Villages of Par, St Blazey Gate, Bodmin and Luxulyan, have all been affected.
There are no reports of injuries, but people are being advised not to travel.
An emergency shelter has been set up by Cornwall Council at Polkyth Leisure Centre in St Austell, where 200 blankets and 200 groundsheets were donated by local charity ShelterBox.

Deepcut investigation criticised in new report
The Surrey Police investigation into the deaths of recruits at the Deepcut army barracks has been criticised by another police force. Devon and Cornwall Police’s report into the deaths for four recruits at the barracks concluded that Surrey Police narrowed the focus of the inquiry by concentrating too much on suicide as the most likely outcome.

Rescue Underway After 'Major Flooding'
Devon and Cornwall police are dealing with a "major flooding incident" after flash floods hit Cornwall overnight. In Pentewan, many were trapped in their cars and homes after downpours left drains in the area overwhelmed. Vehicles in Lostwithiel were reported to be partially submerged.

Cornwall School Closed Following Manhunt
A school in Cornwall has been forced to close as police search for a man wanted in connection with a gun related incident. Police have released an image of Derrel Weaver, 60, from Higher Widlake Farm in Widegates, and are warning people not to approach him. He is wanted in connection with a "domestic incident" at a farm at around 9.

Cornwall Council Makes Over £300,000 From No-Change Parking Meters
Cornwall Council is making an estimated £307,293 a year over because its parking meters do not give change, according to the BBC. The Council said that stocking 250 machines with change would be too problematic and costly. According to the council between 2011 and 2012 it made over £340,000 on no-change machines.
