The UK's Consumer Prices Index (CPI) remained unchanged in August at 3.1%, the latest figures from the Office of National Statistics has revealed.

Clothing and footwear prices also rose by 2.8% this year, with the largest increases seen in women's outerwear, while food prices also rose, particularly bread, cereals and vegetables.
However, fuel prices fell by 1% between July and August this year, while prices of second-hand cars dropped between July and August, compared to sharp price rises during the same period last year.
