Schoolgirl Dies At Watersports Centre
An eleven schoolgirl has been killed in an incident at a watersports centre in west London.
Mari-Simon Cronje suffered serious injuries when she fell from an inflatable 'banana boat', which was being towed by a speedboat, during a children's birthday party at the Princes Club in Bedfont, Middlesex on Saturday.
A 22-year-old man, believed to be the driver of the speedboat, was arrested and later released on bail after the incident.
A statement released by Mari-Simon's family said: "Our beautiful daughter was killed in a tragic water sports accident on Saturday afternoon at Princes Club. She was a guest at a children's birthday party. We are still battling to come to terms with the news."
The Princes Club was shut down following the incident and remained closed for the weekend. A statement on their website said: "At this terrible time our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Mari-Simon Cronje's family and friends. Police and other authorities can rely on our complete co-operation. At this moment we are not in a position to say anything further."

The 47-year-old singer and DJ - real name George O'Dowd - was arrested in connection with the alleged incident, which is understood to involve a 28-year-old man, at his home in Ravey Street in Hackney, east London on April 28.

Mobile phones belonging to Princes William and Harry were tapped by the News of the World, according to a senior Metropolitan police officer. Chief Superintendent Philip Williams told a Commons media committee there was proof the young royals were targeted by reporters working for the Sunday tabloid.

Surprise Royal Visit To Flood-Hit Village
Princes William and Harry have made a surprise visit to the flood-hit village of Datchet in Berkshire, to help colleagues from the Armed Forces brace flood defences. Dressed in waterproofs and wellington boots they worked from around 6am helping residents protect their properties with sandbags.

Stab Victim Dies At Birthday Party
A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death outside a 16th birthday party in Croydon, south London. Later named as Wesley Sterling the victim was initially not thought to have been a guest at the party, which was held at Croydon Sports Arena, but police have now confirmed he was.
