Man Critically Injured In Glasgow Murder Bid

A man is critically ill in hospital after what is believed to have been an attempted murder in Glasgow.

Brian Hanlon, 26, was driving his Audi S4 along Maryhill Road around 11:30pm on Sunday night, when his car was forced off the road by another vehicle outside Kelvin Campus.

Mr Hanlon's car struck a wall and he was then attacked with weapons, including a hammer, by a group of up to seven men.

He suffered serious head injuries and injuries to his groin in the attack and was taken to Glasgow Western Infirmary, before being transferred to Southern General Hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and would particularly like to speak to anyone who saw the two vehicles involved - a dark-coloured 4x4 and a new silver BMW 5 series.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 0141 532 3700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
