Stabbed Six-Year-Old 'Seriously Ill'

A six-year-old girl is seriously ill after she was stabbed in the chest at a property in Surrey.

Police Officers found the girl when they were called to an address in Guildford's Bellfields estate around midnight.

The girl was admitted to hospital. Surrey Police said she was in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

A 28 year old man, and a 44 year old woman, are being questioned by detectives on suspicion of attempted murder.

A spokeswoman for the force said the 44-year-old woman also suffered stab wounds to the hand during the incident and was also being treated in hospital.

Police are currently searching the two-storey terraced house on the estate.

Police Hunt For Missing Teenage Girl From Surrey
Surrey Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who was last seen at her home on Sunday night. Brooklyn Sutherland was last seen at her house in Thames Ditton at around 9.30pm. She is described as having a dark complexion, around 5ft 6ins tall, with a slim build and very long, curly black hair.

New Appeal Issued Over Ola Raji Murder
Police have issued a new appeal for information in the murder of Ola Raji on Tuesday, 21 April 2015. The 21-year-old was found in Surrey Grove, Peckham at 22:30, by police responding to reports of gunshots. Mr Raji had been stabbed and shot. He died shortly after arriving at hospital.

The first drought order in England and Wales since 1995 has been granted to Sutton and East Surrey Water. The order, which is valid for six months, limits or prohibits non-essential uses of water in the region.

Lorry Driver Arrested Over M26 Pile-Up
A 45-year-old lorry driver has been arrested in connection with a road accident that killed two people and left seven others injured. A 22-year-old woman and 16-year-old girl died in the five-vehicle pile up on the M26 near Kemsing which happened around 09:40 on Wednesday morning.

Deepcut investigation criticised in new report
The Surrey Police investigation into the deaths of recruits at the Deepcut army barracks has been criticised by another police force. Devon and Cornwall Police’s report into the deaths for four recruits at the barracks concluded that Surrey Police narrowed the focus of the inquiry by concentrating too much on suicide as the most likely outcome.
