Adam's Brother 'Won't Get Fair Trial'

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adam's 'wanted' brother is insisting that he won't get a fair trial across the border in Northern Ireland.

This is one of the grounds of objection being raised by Liam Adams over an attempt by authorities in Northern Ireland to extradite him on sex abuse charges.

These are "ready" and will be lodged before the High Court at the end of this week.

Mr Justice Michael Peart, sitting at Dublin's Criminal Courts of Justice, was told that their clients "points of objection" to a surrender request from the North would be filed on Friday.

Mr Adams, with a previous address at Bernagh Avenue in Belfast, was in court for the brief hearing, which comes of foot of allegations against him across the Irish border

He is wanted to face multiple charges of rape, indecent assault and gross indecency against his daughter, Aine Tyrell, who has waived her right to anonymity.

However, Liam Adams denies all the charges and is strongly contesting his extradition, having turned himself into gardaí in Dublin early this year after a European Arrest Warrant was issued by the PSNI.

Mr Adams also maintains he will not get a fair trial.
