Former Stereophonics Drummer Found Dead
Ex Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable has been found dead at his home in south Wales.
Emergency services were called to the 40-year-old's house at Llwydcoed near Aberdare, Cynon Valley, at around 5am this morning.
South Wales Police said the cause of death has not yet been established, although there are no suspicious circumstances at this stage.
Mr Cable hosted his own television show, Cable TV, and radio show, Cable Rock, for BBC Wales.
Cable's mother Mable told WalesOnline.com: "Stuart has travelled all over the world with the band and I have worried myself silly. He is now settled down and then this has happens. It has not sunk in yet."
He rose to fame with the Stereophonics in the 1990s, but left the band in 2003, in his autobiography he revealed the split was mainly sparked off by Stereophonics vocalist Kelly Jones' desire to produce the band's third album and tensions over his burgeoning media career.
Mr Cable was a member of a new group called Killing for Company, who were scheduled to play at Donington Park on Saturday. He was also the temporary drummer for the Stone Gods.
