Train Derails Carrying 60 Passengers

Investigators are trying to establish why a train carrying 60 passengers left the rails and burst into flames in Scotland last night.

Eight people were taken to local hospitals with none seriously injured.

The accident happened as the train approached the Cruachan Power Station, Argyll & Bute, at around 20.55pm on Sunday.

One person was taken to the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow with minor spinal injuries. Three people were taken to the Lorn and Islands District General Hospital, Oban including one for minor spinal injuries and four people were taken to the Mid-Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead.

Police confirmed the A85 is closed at the junction with the A819, however there is still access to Loch Awe village.The A85 is also closed at the junction with the A828, but there is still access to Cruanachy.

Women Diagnosed With Cancer Following Recall Of Patients
Six out of 30 women recalled following concerns about breast cancer screenings have been diagnosed with the disease. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust recalled the women after a review of 626 cases between 2011 and 2014. It is understood that all the women were screened by the same radiologist.

Only a third of areas in England are following through on a government pledge to make hospitals share violent crime data with police, an audit has shown. The results of the Department of Health audit have cause the government to write to hospitals and chief constables for an explanation.

Scottish Coach Crash Leaves 14 Hurt
A coach has overturned on the A9 in the Highlands. Police said the Shearings private hire coach was carrying elderly people from Dornoch in the Highlands to Cheshire. Fourteen people have been injured after it crashed two miles south of Dalwhinnie at about 9am. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
