'Cannibal' In Court

A man charged with the murders of three Bradford prostitutes has referred to himself as the 'crossbow cannibal' in court. After being given the grisly nickname by tabloid newspapers, Stephen Griffiths, 40, - who is accused of murdering prostitutes Suzanne Blamires, Shelley Armitage, and Susan Rushworth - bizarrely gave it as his name in the court. Mature student Griffiths, of Thornton Road, Bradford, was remanded in custody by magistrates to appear at the crown court later.

Postie Delivers Porn

A Cornish postman has admitted using social networking sites to abuse hundreds of children over a five-year period. Michael Williams, admitted at Truro Crown Court to 27 charges of inciting sexual activity, grooming and distributing indecent images. He also admitted voyeurism and possessing indecent images. Williams, 28, of Penryn, approached children on Facebook and Bebo.

SAS Killing Probe

The newly appointed Attorney General for Northern Ireland has plunged straight into controversy - by ordering a fresh inquest into the case of the SAS killing of Francis Bradley. John Larkin has ruled on the case where the 20-year-old man died after he was shot eight times in disputed circumstances by the elite and secretive Army regiment near Toomebridge, Co Londonderry in February 1986. In 2006, the Sinn Fein weekly paper, An Phoblacht, carried tributes on the 20th anniversary of the IRA man's death. It read, 'In proud and loving memory of Volunteer Francis Bradley, who was murdered on 18 February 1986'.

Cop Goes Bad

A police officer who is also the son of a former Scottish Police Federation boss has been jailed for a year for drug dealing. Craig Flowers supplied cocaine to his friends in Glasgow and Lanarkshire over a two-year period, while serving as an officer with Strathclyde Police. The 33-year-old's father is Norrie Flowers, Chairman of the Federation in 2002.

Woman Charged With Murdering Baby
A woman has been charged with the murder of 10-month-old Chloe Sutherland, it has been reported. A 35-year-old woman, said to be the little girl's mother, made no plea or declaration during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today. She has been remanded in custody.

Man Charged With Murdering His Father
A man is due to appear before Thames Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of his father. Suluk Ahmen, 31, of Huddleston Close, E2 has been charged with the murder of Jamir Ali, 79, on Sunday, 23 August, in Huddleston Close, E2. Ahmed is also charged with two counts of attempted murder.
