Body Parts 'Match' Missing Bradford Woman

Police in West Yorkshire have confirmed that human remains found in the River Aire are those of missing Bradford woman, Suzanne Blamires.

The body parts were recovered from the river in Shipley on Tuesday, after being discovered by a member of the public who then reported the find to police.

Stephen Griffiths, 40, a mature PhD criminology student, is being questioned on suspicion of murdering Ms Blamires, a 36-year-old prostitute.

He is also suspected of killing two other sex workers in the Bradford area, Shelley Armitage, 31, and Susan Rushworth, 43.

"Examination of human remains recovered from the River Aire have confirmed a positive match to Suzanne Blamires,” said a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police.

"Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing," he added.

CCTV footage is understood to be playing a major part in the investigation.
