Teenage Boy Killed Over Inheritance?
It has emerged that a vulnerable teenage student may have been murdered because of an inheritance.
For the last two months, the disappearance of the student, Russell Bohling, has left police baffled, but his family have now voiced concerns that they think he might have been murdered over his inheritance.
Russell, from West Ella, near Hull, disappeared in March before he received the payment his father had agreed to make to help set him up in business.
They believe he may have been killed by someone who found out about the £300,000 windfall he was about to receive.
The college student, who is described as "vulnerable" due to a speech disorder, drove to a cliff top nature reserve on the East Yorkshire coast and paid for a day's parking.
A massive search involving police, the coastguard, an underwater search unit and the force helicopter failed to find any clues.
Parents Roger and Christine Bohling insist their son would not have killed himself or run away and was "excited" three days earlier when he discussed with his father plans to use the inheritance to set up a business.
The couple said he was "very happy with his studies and life."
They fear he may have been killed in a failed abduction attempt linked to the gift he was about to receive, or gone to the beauty spot to meet someone he knew.
Humberside Police are calling in outside help to assess whether to treat Russell's disappearance as murder.
Following his disappearance, Russell's bank account has not been touched and his mobile phone is dead.
Police admit they have very little to go on and it seems the Bishop Burton student, from West Ella, has vanished into thin air.
The police are still treating it as a missing persons inquiry, but Chief Supt Davison admits its complex nature has left officers stumped.
Chief Supt Davison said: "This case is a lot more complex than something like a normal murder inquiry. We have to keep a completely open mind.
"There is absolutely nothing to go on other than Russell's car, the finger prints on the parking ticket and the fact he looked a little smarter when he left for college that morning.
"I am bringing in help to provide an objective perspective.
"I am meeting with a senior detective from another force today and we are also bringing someone in from the NPIA.
"I have requested their help and it will be a fairly quick process.
"They should be in a position to make recommendations in a couple of weeks.
"If they feel this should be treated as a murder inquiry then we will look at handing it over to the Major Investigation Team."
