Milly Accused Remanded

The man facing trial over the murder of schoolgirl Milly Dowler has been remanded in custody.

Levi Bellfield, 41, is accused of kidnapping and murdering the 13-year-old in 2002.

Bellfield, a former nightclub doorman, appeared in court this morning to hear the charges against him.

He is accused of taking Milly from Walton-on-Thames, Surrey and later dumping her dead body in Yateley Heath, Hampshire.

Bellfield, originally from West Drayton, west London, appeared by video link at Staines Magistrates Court.

He was remanded in custody at the end of the short hearing and ordered to attend Guildford Crown Court on 30 April.

Murdered teenager Milly Dowler's sister Gemma has been named Cosmopolitan's Women Of The Year. She was named Ultimate Family Girl at the magazine's awards ceremony in central London. Miss Dowler was often seen with her parents as they saw Milly's killer, Levi Bellfield, jailed for life for her murder in 2002.

Bellfield Found Guilty Of Milly's Murder
A former nightclub bouncer has been found guilty of the murder of Milly Dowler. Milly, 13, went missing while walking home from school on 21 March 2002 in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey. Her body was found six months later in Hampshire. Following a trial at the Old Bailey Levi Bellfield, 43, was convicted of her murder. He denies the charge.

The man who killed teenager Milly Dowler has been awarded a £4,500 payout after being assaulted in a West Yorkshire prison. Levi Bellfield, who was jailed for life in 2011 for killing the 13-year-old schoolgirl, took legal action after he was attacked by another prisoner in 2009.

Action Promised Over Milly's Phone Hacking
The boss of News International has said the "strongest possible action" will be employed if claims that the phone of murder victim Milly Dowler was hacked. It has been reported that a private investigator was hired to hack into Milly's voicemail while she was missing to give the News of the World access to associated 'storylines' for the paper.
