Bolton Paedophile Jailed

A man who sexually abused young girls has been locked up.

James Edward Neville Jones, 45, of Great Lever, Bolton, pleaded guilty to indecent assault on a girl under 13 years old, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault by touching, five counts of sexual activity with a child through penetration and 22 counts of possession of indecent images of children at an earlier hearing.

He was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection at Bolton Crown Court and must serve a minimum of three years and 217 days in jail before he is even eligible for parole.

Two of Jones' victims were just 14-years-old when he sexual abused them at an address Wigan in the summer of 2008. Another, who was between 13 and 14-years-old, was sexually abused. On one occasion, it is believed he recorded the abuse on his mobile phone.

Jones also sexually abused a fourth victim in 2002, this time at a house in Salford, when she was 12-years-old.

On 23 September 2008, two of the victims came forward and Jones was arrested. His computer was seized and found to contain a large amount of indecent images of children.

Detective Constable Kevin Telford, from Wigan CID, said: "Jones completely abused the trust the parents of his victim place in him and abused defenceless young girls. He is a bully and a predator and he deserves to be locked away.

"The judge commented that he is a highly dangerous sexual predator who showed no remorse other than for himself."
