Huddersfield Drugs Swoop

Police in Huddersfield have arrested a 33-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male following a drugs raid at a house on Bradley Boulevard.

During the search yesterday, police said a substantial amount of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine was recovered from the premises.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and released on bail pending further enquiries.

In the last week alone, the specialist drugs team in Kirklees have seized £103,500 worth of drugs from around the district, as well as 25 shotgun cartridges. They have arrested six people for drugs offences and recovered 3 stolen vehicles.

Sergeant Ian Thornes said: "We are committed to acting on information received from members of the Kirklees Community involving drug offences and the possession of illegally held firearms.

"All information received is researched and whenever possible, action is taken against those involved."

Mother Brings Scarlett's Body Home
The mother of Scarlet Keeling, the teenager who was raped and murdered in Goa has arrived back in the UK to organise her daughter's funeral. Fiona MacKeown, 43, arrived in Heathrow Airport from Mumbai, India last night with her daughter's coffin.

£1.2m Of Cocaine Found On Cruise Liner
More than £1 million of cocaine has been discovered during a raid on a luxury cruise liner, customs officials have said. HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) investigators and UK order Agency officers seized the drugs, with an estimated street value of £1.2 million on Sunday.

Britons arrested over cocaine seizure
Three Britons are among those arrested following the seizure of five tonnes of cocaine in the Canary Islands. Timothy Kieran O'Toole, Ian Stephen Davenport and James Carabini were among eleven people arrested by Spanish police during the operation, one of the largest ever single cocaine seizures in Europe.

Compensation For Stuart Lubbock's Father
The father of Stuart Lubbock, who was found dead in a swimming pool in the former home of entertainer Michael Barrymore, has been awarded £6,800 in criminal injuries compensation over the death. Terry Lubbock will also receive £1,300 for funeral costs.
