Suspicious Aldenham Death
Police in Hertfordshire are attempting to piece together the last movements of a man whose body was found in a country park yesterday morning.
The man's remains were discovered at Aldenham Country Park in Elstree shortly before 9am.
Police say he was dressed in a yellow high visibility jacket and had sustained serious head injuries.
The man - believed to be in his 40s - has not yet been formally identified but police are treating his death as suspicious.
His body was discovered in parkland near to a disused kiosk. The scene is also adjacent to a car park on Dagger Lane.
The incident is believed to have taken place at some point between 5am and 8.50am and police said they are keen to track the man’s movements between these times.
Investigating officer Detective Superintendent Mick Hanlon, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "This is an extremely shocking incident where a man has sadly lost his life.
"A lot of dog walkers and joggers frequent the country park and we would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who believes they may have seen a man fitting this description in the vicinity to come forward.
"If you have any information at all, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, please get in touch."
The area remains cordoned off and the Hertfordshire Constabulary mobile police station is on the scene.
