Dundee Crack Cocaine Haul

Crack cocaine with an estimated street value of £25,000 has been seized by Tayside Police in Dundee.

The Class A drugs were recovered following the search of a van that was stopped on the A90.

Two men from London, aged 39 and 23, have since been arrested and charged in connection with the haul.

Detective Inspector Stuart Holmes, Head of Tayside's Drugs and Surveillance Branch, said he hoped the arrests and seizure go some way in reassuring the public drugs would not be tolerated.

"The removal of these drugs from our streets has prevented a great deal of misery being brought to communities which creates absolute devastation to people's lives.

"We have stopped that happening in this case," he said.

"I want to re-assure the people of Tayside that my officers and the whole Force is 100% committed to doing everything possible to remove class A drugs from our streets and stemming the flow of drugs into local communities.

"Information is vital for us to be successful in making a real impact. I want to encourage people that they should not suffer in silence and I appeal to people in local communities that they must tell us about what is happening, or what they suspect to be happening, in their area."
