Birmingham Teen Stabbed

An investigation has been launched after a man sustained stab wounds during an unprovoked attack in Birmingham.

The male victim, 19, was confront at around 2.30am on Sunday 1 November 2009 while walking along Ampton Road, Edgbaston.

Police, who only made the appeal today, said he was approached by a lone male on a mountain bike and was asked to empty his pockets.

The victim was then stabbed in the neck, chest and left arm and required stitches to his wounds. Nothing was taken from him.

The offender is described as being possibly either Asian or a dark-skinned southern European male, aged between 25-30. He was around 5'5'' to 5'6'' tall and of slim build.

He had stubble on his chin and wore a dark olive green 'puffer' style padded jacket. The offender was also riding a black framed bike which had straight handlebars.

Extensive police enquiries have so far not led to an arrest. Anyone with information to assist the enquiry is urged to ring 0845 113 5000 and ask to speak to detectives at Rose Road police station.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder In Kent
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Kent. At around 7.15pm on Tuesday (19 May), police were called to a property in Hectorage Road, Tonbridge. Two men, aged 34 and 54, had sustained injuries which police believed to be knife wounds. The 54-year-old victim died at the scene. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital.

Female Police Officer Injured In Shooting
A female police officer has been injured in a shooting in Leeds. At around 4am on Wednesday morning, West Yorkshire Police said two officers had been called to a disturbance in Cardigan Road, Hyde Park. They were confronted by a man at a property and a gun was fired.

Investigation launched into Glasgow rape

Govt Announce Funding For Male Rape Victim Charities
A total of £600,000 in government funding has been secured to support male victims of rape. The money, being made available under the Male Rape Support Fund, will be shared between 12 charities over two years, Victims Minister Mike Penning has announced.
