Alleged 'Night Stalker' Remanded

A man charged in relation to a series of rapes and assaults on elderly people within a 17 year period across south-east London has been remanded in custody.

Delroy Grant, 52, of Brockley, alleged to be the man dubbed the "night stalker", appeared before Greenwich Magistrates' Court charged with five rapes, six indecent assaults and 11 burglaries which occurred between 1992 and 2009.

He was remanded by the court until Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police arrested Grant on Sunday morning.

Over 30 officers took part in Operation Minstead hunting for a man who has been linked to 108 crimes mainly targeting elderly women at night.

Over 2,000 DNA samples were obtained from suspects as part of the 12-year Operation believed costing around £102,700.

Fourth Man Charged Over Nightclub Murder
A fourth man has been charged over a murder at Kingston nightclub. Levan Greenfield, 22, of no fixed abode was charged on Friday 30 November with the murder of 20-year-old Jamie Sanderson in the Oceana nightclub, Kingston on Thursday 25 October. He will appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Tuesday 4 December.

Three Men Arrested Over Biker Murder
Three more men have been arrested in connection with the murder of biker Gerry Tobin on the M40 in August. Warwickshire Police confirmed that a 44-year-old man was arrested at his home in Aldermans Green in Coventry, while a 45-year-old man was arrested at his home on a narrow boat moored on the Coventry Canal near to Aldermans Green in Coventry.

Man Charged With Murder After Traffic Collision
A man has been charged with murder following a fatal traffic collision at a village in Hertfordshire. The victim, a man in his 50s, died after colliding with a white van at 11.30am in Groom Road on 26 June. Michael Turner, 56, from Landua Way in Turnford, has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court on 29 June.
