Dead Tot's Mum Charged With Neglect

A mother from Great Manchester has been charged with neglecting her baby boy.

Tracey Sutherland, 39, of Porlock Road, Baguley, appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court today (13 November) charged with child neglect.

Her son, 13-month-old Alexander Sutherland, was pronounced dead in hospital on Tuesday 10 November.

Police were called to Porlock Road shortly before 7am following a report the baby had died.

A post mortem examination of the child took place on Wednesday but the cause of death could not be ascertained, police said this morning.

Pair Charged Over Beheaded Sheep
A man and a woman has been charged following the discovery on Monday or beheaded sheep at a farm in County Durham. Police say that on Monday the body of a sheep was found in a farmers field and its head was found in a rear yard. It is understood that an examination of the animal by a vet suggested that the sheep had been mutilated before it died.

Two Charged Over Child's Death
A man and woman are due to appear in court today charged with the death of a four-year-old child. The 36-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from the Tyseley area of Birmingham, are due to appear at the city's magistrates' court charged with killing a four-year-old child through gross neglect, in April.

Man in court over Manchester pub shootings
A 42-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with the double murder of two men who were shot dead outside a Manchester pub. Ian George McLeod, of Victoria Street, Radcliffe appeared at Salford magistrates' court charged with conspiracy to commit murder. He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Square on April 10.

Mobile Customers To Share £1m Refund
Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Shrien Dewani Extradited To South Africa
British man Shrien Dewani, 34, suspected of arranging the murder of his 28-year-old wife on their honeymoon has arrived in South Africa to face trial after a three-year legal battle against extradition due to his mental health problems.
