'Rapist' Sought Over Young Mum Attack

Police in south London are seeking a man who allegedly raped a young mum in a flat while her three-year-old son was present.

It is understood that the alleged attacker was known to the 23-year-old woman. It is believed that she had met the man, known as Derek, via the internet and that they had meet several times before the alleged attack.

According to the victim, she met the man on the morning of September 30 around 11:30am and followed him in her car, along with her son, from the M2 to a block of flats in Sutton, south London.

While drinking tea in the flat, it is alleged that the man punched the woman in the face, knocking her unconscious, before he sexually assaulted her.

She managed to escape from the property with her son around 3:30pm.

Police have described the man as white, in his late forties and of muscular build. He drove an old green Land Rover with a canvas roof and had a spare wheel attached to the rear of the vehicle with a cover with an eagle design on it.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are continuing.

Former Co-op Bank Chairman Arrested
Paul Flowers, the former chairman of the Co-op Bank has been arrested after being filmed allegedly buying drugs. According to a report by the BBC, Flowers was arrested in Merseyside as part of a "drugs supply investigation". The footage of Mr Flowers allegedly shows him buy £300 worth of cocaine and discussing the purchase of other illegal drugs.

Police Investigate 'Unexplained' Death In Cambridge
Four men arrested in connection with the discovery of a man's body in a shop in Cambridge have been released on bail. It is understood the body of man, aged in his 40s, was found at about 06:30 on Monday at the One-Stop shop in Ditton Lane in Cambridge.

Man Admits Double Killings
The Crown court is to pursue charges of murder against a 28-year-old man held over the deaths of two sisters. Mohammed Ali has already admitted the manslaughter of 22-year-old Yasmine Larbi-Cherif and her 20-year-old sister Sabrina, who were found stabbed in their Birmingham flat last year.

Grading Proposed For Speeding Drivers
A system of grading for those caught speeding on the UK's roads has been proposed. Drivers caught speeding could be given more penalty points on their licence depending on how much over the speed limit they are. Ministers are looking at a scheme under which the worst offenders would get six points on their driving licence.

Three bodies discovered in east London flat
The bodies of a man, woman and baby girl have been found in a flat in east London, police have confirmed. The bodies of a 49-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a four-month-old baby girl were discovered in the flat in Devons Road in Bow on Monday evening. It is understood that the occupants of the flat had not been seen for some time.
