Nursery Worker Names Sex Abuse Victims
A nursery worker who was jailed for sexually abusing some of the children in her care has begun to name some of her victims.
Mother-of-two Vanessa George, 39, who admitted abusing children at Little Ted's nursery in Plymouth, had previously refused to identify those she had abused.
However, according to reports, George gave the names of up to ten children to her lawyer while in custody.
Police have stressed, though, that no child has yet been formally identified as a victim.
An official statement released by Devon and Cornwall Police said: "As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary are involved in a dialogue with George's defence counsel and the question of victim identification is part of that.
"It would be inappropriate to go into this further until sentencing is complete.
"We continue to update parents regularly regarding the investigation."
It is understood that the families of the children have been informed. Earlier this month, a child expert said that the children should make a full recovery from the abuse carried out by George, due to their young ages.
George is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on November 13, after she pleaded guilty to 13 charges of indecent assault and taking and distributing indecent photos of children.
Her co-defandants, Colin Blanchard and Angela Allen, both aged 39 and from Rochdale and Nottingham, respectively, have also pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and distributing indecent images and are awaiting sentencing.
All three were arrested in June, following a police investigation. It is understood that they had met on social networking website Facebook.
