Police Appeal Follows Croydon Murder
The police have renewed their appeal for witnesses and information following the murder of Saravanakumar Sellappan in Croydon.
They set the scene this week by explaining how London Ambulance Service were called at 5.30am on Sunday 18 October to reports of a man with a head injury at a residential address in Croydon.
They said he was taken to a south London hospital where he died the next day after which the post mortem gave the cause of death as a head injury.
The man has been formally identified as Saravanakumar Sellappan, 24, of Thornton Heath.
Detectives from the Homicide & Serious Crime Command at Sutton are investigating. They believe that Saravanakumar was assaulted during a robbery in Thornton Heath at approximately 10pm on Saturday 17 October.
The suspects are believed to be three white men; officers are not releasing a further description.
DCI Amanda Hargreaves, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in Thornton Heath last Saturday night and who witnessed this robbery and assault to contact police.
"The area would have been busy with people out socialising and I am fairly certain that somebody has information that will help us with our inquiries."
Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have information. Call the Incident Room on 020 8721 4155 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
By way of furher information, the police said that a 19-year-old man was arrested in the Hounslow area on Sunday, 25 October, on suspicion of the murder of Saravanakumar Sellappan. He is currently in custody in a south London police station.
Two teenage boys were also arrested on suspicion of murder on 23 October and remain in custody.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.

Police Renew Appeal For Information In Plumstead Murder Investigation
Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Plumstead will be carrying out enquiries in the town centre one-week on from his death. The murder investigation was launched after the body of 29-year-old Tadas Jarusevicius was found under a bridge near to Plumstead Railway Station at about 14:00 on Wednesday, 23 September.

Police have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of Robert Hutchinson in June 2014. Mr Hutchinson (57) was last seen leaving his home in Corporation Road in the Hendon area of the city at 6.20pm on Monday, June 23, 2013. He has not been seen since. It it known that Mr Hutchinson left in his car, a blue Nissan Micra.
