Stab Death Victim Named

A 38-year-old woman remains in custody today being questioned in connection with the death of Anthony Robin, 44, who was attacked and fatally stabbed in a flat in Fitzroy Avenue early this morning.

Mr Robin was injured at about 3.30am on Monday and later died in hospital from his injuries.

Police have launched a murder enquiry and have appealed for information, particularly from anyone who was near the scene around the time of the attack.

The front door of the house in which the flat is located lay open this morning.

Three police officers stood guard at the building and two adjoining properties were cordoned off as forensic officers examined the scene.

A policeman and policewoman approached a number of neighbours, mostly students, for information as they left their homes this morning, reported the Belfast Telegraph.
