Tragedy On Roads As Three Die In Separate Collisions.

Three people have now died in separate road accidents in Northern Ireland.

A 20-year-old man was killed on Tuesday night in a one-vehicle accident in Cloeraine.

The collision happened on the town's ring road, near to the junction with the Ballycastle Road.

Meanwhile, another young man has died in a traffic accident in Newtownards (Co Down).

The traffic accident, that took place at about 10.30pm at Balllyblack Road East, involved two vehicles. Two other men were injured and taken to hospital.

Several roads remain closed: the Ballyblack Road is closed to the Ballycastle Road; the Ballyblack Road East is closed from Main Street in Carrowdore to Moss Road; and the Grange Road is completely closed.

Police have also said this morning that Atlantic Road, between Coleraine and Portrush, has been closed too - after a third fatal accident.

It has emerged in the last few hours that another person was killed in the Atlantic Road incident, which is the main route between between Coleraine and Portrush.

All this happened a day after Stormont Environment Minister, Sammy Wilson, launched a new road safety campaign involving two adverts that focus on the real human cost of crashes.
