Police Appeal After Tragic Teen Bus Fatality

Police in Belfast have appealed for witnesses of last week's fatal city centre bus collision to come forward.

Sixteen-year-old Ciara Park died after being struck by a bus at Royal Avenue, near the junction with High Street and Donegall Place last Tuesday.

The St Dominic's Grammar School pupil had been shopping with her father and brother before being knocked-down at around 5.30pm.

Hundreds of mourners turned out to pay their last respects to the Dunmurry teenager at the weekend.

Lisburn Road officers have now launched a public appeal for witnesses at the tragic scene to speak to police.

Investigators are seeking information from passengers on the bus, anyone who noticed the double-decker vehicle as it approached Royal Avenue, or passersby who has saw Ciara before the crash.

Members of the public have been asked to phone Lisburn Road police station on 0845 600 8000, or the confidential crime stoppers number 0800 555 111.
