Investment Creates Jobs
A new €1million investment programme in Tullamore, Co Offaly is expected to produce up to 30 new jobs.
The announcement was made by Taoiseach Brian Cowen at the opening of the new headquarters of ATSR (Automatic Technology Systems and Research Ltd) this morning.
ATSR, which was established in 2006, produces controlling systems for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines.
The firm currently employs 23 people. The new investment programme is aimed at helping the company win new business in Ireland, Canada, the US and Britain.

Purepipe To Create Six New Jobs
Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions, outlined details of a major new investment programme that could create up to 100,000 jobs and significantly boost prospects of economic recovery. Congress General Secretary David Begg said: "Ireland desperately needs to create jobs, boost domestic demand and generate growth if there is to be any hope of recovery.

265 New Jobs Announced In Athlone And Galway
A total of 265 new jobs have been announced for Athlone and Galway. In Athlone, DPD Ireland will create 200 new jobs over the next five years, with 70 of the vacancies expected to be filled before Christmas. The new jobs are part of a €13m investment, which will see the company double the size of its sorting facility.
