Bowman Opens New Premises

PVC window specialist, the Bowman Group, has officially opened its new Banbridge showroom.

The company designs, manufactures and installs a range of aluminium and PVC windows, doors and curtain walling for the domestic and commercial markets.

Over £120,000 has been invested in the group by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund in recent years.

Funding went towards strengthening the management team, improving IT infrastructure and various other measures aimed at boosting capability and efficiency, Invest NI said.

The company self-financed the investment in its new showroom, at a cost of £25,000.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster officially opened the new premises.

She said: "Since its establishment almost 40 years ago, The Bowman Group has been renowned for its high standard of craftsmanship and an emphasis on customer care.

"These attributes have helped the company withstand difficult trading conditions in the sector during the economic downturn and remain competitive."

Ms Foster said the new showroom is "testament to the company’s resilience and commitment to the local area".

The company has also enjoyed success in the Republic of Ireland and has recently penetrated the Great Britain market, winning significant new business there.

Managing Director Victor Bowman said: "Despite the well-known economic problems that have arisen recently, we continue to perform strongly, thanks in large part to our growing focus on external markets.

"We have worked hard to raise the profile of our brand in the GB market through visits to key potential clients and the development of a range of high quality promotional materials."

He said the support of Invest NI has been integral to the firm's recent success.

"Efficiency measures have helped us reduce wastage and boost profitability, whilst a major upgrade of our computer systems has enhanced the company’s online presence and internal operations."
