InterTrade finalises private equity conference
InterTradeIreland has finalised the details of the private enterprise conference to be held in the Ramada Hotel, Belfast.
The first all-Ireland investment conference of its type, to be held on Wednesday, April 24, will bring together venture capitalists, financial consultants and business advisors seeking information on private equity investment.
Speakers include Scott Malpass of Notre Dame Venture Capital Fund, Dr. Martin Naughton of InterTradeIreland and Glen Dimplex, and Dr. Chris Horn of Iona Technologies. Also to speak will be entrepreneurs who have had recent experience of the venture capital market.
This high-profile event will target an audience of senior participants from the venture capital and equity community In Ireland, both north and south.
The conference will aim to promote best practice among participants in this industry sector by highlighting successful funds and ventures from the US and the island of Ireland.
The organisers say that the conference will be ideally suited to a range of professions in the field, such as venture capitalists; advisors in the equity market; corporate lawyers; corporate financiers; chartered accountants; certified accountants; and management consultants.

Empey highlights start up equity capital gap
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment Sir Reg Empey has highlighted innovation and entrepreneurship as the "building blocks of Northern Ireland’s new economic framework". However, the Minister warned: "Research has shown there is a gap in equity finance for people with bright ideas and for early start-up projects".
