Girl struck by scooter remains in stable condition

An 11-year old girl remains in a stable condition in hospital after being injured in a hit-and-run accident in Lisburn, County Antrim.

Deborah Griffith was struck by a motorised scooter on Wednesday April 3 near Longstone Street, in the area between the Omniplex Cinema and surrounding football pitches.

Her skull was fractured in two places in the accident, and she was treated in the intensive care unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The girl is now in a stable condition.

The police have said two youths have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The father of the 11-year-old girl, Reverend Albert Griffith, has called for the scooters to be banned.

Man Killed In Co Antrim Road Crash
A man, aged in his 20s, has been killed in a collision between a lorry and a car in Co Antrim. The crash occurred on the Ballyutoag Road in the Crumlin area just before 8.30pm on Tuesday, 25 October. The lorry driver is in a stable condition in hospital. The road remains closed.

Airlift baby remains in stable condition
A critically ill baby who had to be airlifted to a hospital in Liverpool due to the lack of intensive care beds in Northern Ireland, is said to be in a stable condition, it has today been reported. Ben Marshall, who is just six-weeks old, was moved from the Ulster Hospital to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool on Friday evening.

Two Die After Crash Fleeing Gardaí
Two men have died while attempting to flee from Gardaí along icy roads in Limerick last night. The pair were among three men who were speeding along Limerick roads in a high-performance BMW car, which crashed off an icy road into a tree at around 9.30pm on Tuesday night. The third man is reportedly a Limerick city man and known to Gardaí.

A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Man Seriously Assaulted In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked in north Belfast. The victim, aged in his 40s, was assaulted by a gang outside licensed premises in the Flax Street area at around 5.25am on Sunday, 17 July. The man sustained injuries to his head and is currently in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
