Am-Beo invests €3 million in research facility

Am-Beo, the Galway-based provider of rating and revenue chain management software for the telecommunications sector, is to invest €3 million in its research facility in the region, with the aim of employing 65 people by the end of the year.

The investment, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland, will be used to further research and to develop pricing and charging technologies in the telecommunications sector, particularly in the area of next generation digital services, and revenue sharing business model support.

Making the announcement, the Tánaiste, Mary Harney, said: "This dynamic young company epitomises the type of enterprise activity which the Government and Enterprise Ireland are seeking to encourage in locations outside the East Coast. This company is a clear example that Galway is an eminently suitable location for high technology start-ups with an eye to export markets."

Am-Beo CEO John Brady added: "This investment will enable further research and development in Am-Beo's flagship product "Rate-Rec". I would like to acknowledge the support of Enterprise Ireland, particularly their overseas office network whose expertise has been invaluable in targeting overseas markets in Britain, mainland Europe and North America."
