Airtricity To Create 200 New Green Energy Jobs
Renewable energy supplier Airtricity has announced plans to create 200 jobs in the Irish market to support the development of the electricity supply business.
The new positions will encompass sales, customer support, billing and support services.
Fifty new positions will be created at the firm's Sandyford headquarters with the remaining 150 jobs being outsourced roles.
Airtricity has also announced the launch of a major customer acquisition campaign to actively target the consumer market.
Kevin Greenhorn, Airtricity Supply Managing Director, said: "This is great news on the jobs front, this announcement reinforces that there is real potential to generate jobs in the renewable energy sector and that the industry can help the country out of its current downturn.
"Airtricity is a leader in green energy generation and supply, and in supporting jobs and economic stimulus. To date, Airtricity has invested almost €700m into the economy, and an investment of up to €125m is planned over the next 12 months."
Airtricity has been supplying electricity to commercial customers for over five years and now has a current total customer base of almost 70,000.
With 100% of its generation from renewable sources, Airtricity's said its electricity supply is the greenest in the market.
