Life Communications to handle Specsavers Opticians account

Belfast-based PR agency, Life COMMUNICATIONS has been appointed to handle public relations for Specsavers Opticians in Northern Ireland.

The agency won the business in a competitive pitch situation and follows the announcement by Specsavers to open 70 new stores in the coming year, thus creating around 1,000 new jobs.

The new account is set to be handled by Agency Managing Director Darlene McCormick and Account Director Mary Johnston.

Specsavers Opticians is the UK market leader and opened its first store in Northern Ireland ten years ago. (MB)

Safety first for Specsavers Opticians in Portadown
Specsavers Opticians in Portadown have scooped the top prize in Northern Ireland in a competition that involved more than 450 Specsavers stores. The National Safety Eyewear Competition was launched in 2002 and encouraged stores to generate new Prescription Safety Eyewear business within their area.

The UK's biggest optical retailer, Specsavers Opticians, is to open 70 new stores throughout the UK in the coming year, creating 1,000 new jobs. Having increased its market share to 27 per cent last year, Specsavers now hope to seriously challenge high street and supermarket competition through its expansion plan.

The representative body for the Local Enterprise Agency Network - Enterprise Northern Ireland - has appointed two new non-Executive Directors to its Board. They are Sandy Smith, former Director General of the International Fund for Ireland and Angela McGowan, Chief Economist at Northern Bank.

Belfast Digital Agency To Create 13 New Jobs
Belfast based digital agency, Engage is creating 13 new jobs as part of a plan to increase sales in export markets. Formed in 2011, Engage specialises in the creation of websites and web applications and has offices in Belfast, Dublin and London. Invest NI has offered £97,500 of support towards the creation of the new jobs.

New Causeway Enterprise Agency Will Stimulate Business Growth
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has said the new Causeway Enterprise Agency (CEA) will help stimulate business growth within the region. The Minister was in Ballycastle today to launch the new agency, formed when the existing CEA merged with the North Antrim Business Agency, and officially open its refurbished offices.
