Northern Ireland’s travellers courted by flight companies
British flight companies are courting Northern Ireland travellers with lower and cheaper deals than ever before.
Bmi British Midland have announced that they are introducing return fares from both of Belfast’s airports to London Heathrow at £29 each way. They are also dropping Saturday night and minimum stay requirements, as of Tuesday April 16, which ensures customers will now be able to take advantage of same day return deals.
Increased flexibility also now means that name changes to tickets can be made up to two hours before departure.
The company joins the ranks of Go, easyJet, and British European in offering previously unheard of low-cost flight deals for Northern Ireland passengers commuting to cities like London, Scotland and Birmingham.
Travelling to London is realistically now in the regions of £70 return instead of around the £150-200 benchmark.
Austin Reid, bmi chief executive officer said: “Bmi has a history of being competitive and clearly this is a reaction to the needs of today’s traveller, both business and leisure, to have access to a wide range of flexible fares. Bmi remains the only airline from London Heathrow to offer both business and economy cabins and we have applied a new pricing structure to each cabin.
“Business passengers will continue to benefit from all the extras including priority check in, access to exclusive lounges and membership of our frequent flyer programme, diamond club and leisure travellers will now benefit from incredibly low prices on same day returns.” (AMcE)
