Blaze Victims Return To Renovated Homes
Work to restore Ballynahinch homes destroyed in a blaze last year have been completed.
Twelve residents living in the Loughside Drive block of flats were relocated by the Housing Executive while the fire damage was repaired.
Many of the residents had been living in temporary accommodation whilst others made their own arrangements, some moving in with family and others to alternative permanent accommodation.
Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie (pictured) welcomed the residents back to their newly renovated homes.
She said: "We have taken the opportunity since last October to not just repair their homes, but to update them and bring them right up to present day standards.
"I am delighted that we have been able to deliver on my promise that residents returned to their homes as quickly as possible."
Paddy McIntyre, Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, paid tribute to temporary housing providers, public representatives and the contractor.
Some of the work undertaken included a replacement roof to one section of the building, installation of new fire measures to meet current Building Control, refurbishment of all 12 flats including rewiring, new kitchens, fire doors and smoke alarms, installation of new windows and removal of defective PVC cladding alongside the creation of new external areas for each flat.
The work is estimated to cost £250,000.

Hundreds Of New Homes To Be Developed In Co Down
Approximately 50 construction jobs are to be created as part of a £50million project to develop 900 new homes in Comber, Co Down. Northern Ireland homebuilders Hagan Homes has started construction work on the first phase of the 'Enler Village' site on the Newtownards Road, which includes the development of 17 new homes.

Orange Order Agrees To Nationalist Talks
The Orange Order has agreed to engage in talks with a nationalist residents group in north Belfast, following an appeal by a unionist residents group. The Twaddell and Woodvale Residents Association asked local Orange lodges to speak to the Crumlin and Ardoyne Residents Association to find a way to help the 12th of July parades pass off peacefully.
