Rebranding sees T-Mobile launched in the UK
A fundamental repositioning in the UK mobile industry has taken place on Wednesday April 18 in Northern Ireland and across the UK, with the launch of T-Mobile.
T-Mobile is the new name for One 2 One, the UK network of T-Mobile International, and is part of an ongoing strategy to position the network as a leading global player.
Harris Jones, Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile in the UK, said: “Turning collective thinking into international services, building consistent approaches to customer needs, and membership of a multinational team will enable T-Mobile to build on the success and popularity of the One 2 One brand.
“Quite simply, T-Mobile represents a new stage in the company’s development as a leading player in the mobile telecommunications industry.”
Mark Henry, manager of T-Mobile in Northern Ireland added: “One 2 One was launched in Northern Ireland last April and the announcement is a further demonstration of the company’s commitment to offer Northern Ireland customers competitive, international services.”
The new brand embodies the company’s intention to provide seamless, innovative services in all the markets in which T-Mobile operates.
The T-Mobile group anticipate that by developing and marketing products on a global scale, there will be benefits from synergies in the procurement of equipment and network technologies.
T-Mobile International currently serves over 53 million mobile customers, primarily through its majority-owned subsidiaries in the UK, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and the USA.
Where Deutsche Telekom has a whole or partial shareholding, T-Mobile's reach extends to nearly 67 million customers.
