Local celebrity chef goes back to school
Top celebrity chef, Paul Rankin has teamed up with Sodexho, Northern Ireland's leading catering and support services company, to help promote the company's passion for food, children and education to both pupils and parents across the province.
Paul Rankin is currently holding a series of 'masterclasses' for Sodexho chefs in schools preparing nutritional, exciting school meals.
On his joint venture with Sodexho, Paul said: "One of my main skills is as a teacher and an inspirer and I just hope I can encourage people to go onto bigger and better things"
Martin McNeill, Managing Director Sodexho Northern Ireland added: "The main aim of forging links between Sodexho and Paul Rankin is to enhance the food offer within schools. Sodexho's ethos is that we should practice a healthy approach to eating along with a balanced lifestyle and we are committed to improving the quality of daily life for our customers in education as well as in healthcare, business & industry sectors throughout Northern Ireland.
"Paul has a great way with people and hopefully this will be a long lasting relationship. It is a fantastic opportunity for our Sodexho chefs and cooks to learn from his vast experience."
Paul Rankin also helped launch Sodexho's latest innovation 'Fit & Ness' at Cabin Hill Preparatory.
Targeted at children aged between four to 10, the Sodexho Healthy Start in Schools package includes a range of materials to support schools in meeting the new National Healthy Schools Standards.

Paul Rankin café opens at Belfast International Airport
Belfast International Airport has unveiled its new Café Paul Rankin at the cost of £330,000. The café, which has employed 30 new staff, is located in the main departures lounge and is part of the ongoing £3 million terminal development programme announced in July 2002.

Tánaiste Opens Newly Refurbished School
Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills Mary Coughlan has opened the newly refurbished St. Joseph's National School, East Wall, Dublin 3. The school building was refurbished at a cost of €1.1million and funded by the Department of Education and Skillls.
