Tragedy Hits Co Tyrone Farm
A two-year-old boy has been killed in a farm accident in Co Tyrone.
The incident involved a lorry and left toddler Tadhg Sweeney dead.
He was playing outside his family home at Mullaghslin, Carrickmore, when the accident happened at about 6.30pm on Monday evening.
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating his death.
A local politican, Sinn Féin councillor Ann Marie Fitzgerald said she had visited the family and they were deeply shocked by the child's death.
She told the BBC: "I visited the family home last night and they are totally devastated. The child was the youngest of four boys and was playing outside when the tragic accident, involving a lorry occurred.
"As a parent and local representative, I wish to extend deepest sympathy with the Sweeney family during this incredibly difficult time."
A police spokesman said officers were called yesterday evening but that the child was pronounced dead on arrival at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Boy Killed In Belfast Road Accident
A five-year-old boy has died in a road accident in north Belfast. It has been reported that the boy was riding his bike in the Rosehead area of Ardoyne on Wednesday morning at about 09:00 when he was struck by a car. The child was taken to a nearby hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.
