Ballymoney Foods secure £1m contract
Leading frozen potato producer, Ballymoney Foods has won a major contract with Britain's largest holiday resort company, Bourne Leisure.
As the owner and operator of brands including Butlins, Haven, British Holidays, and Warner Hotels, Bourne Leisure employs 3,300 catering staff across its estate and is responsible for feeding five million tourists and holidaymakers each year.
The new contract with Ballymoney Foods, which is estimated to be worth in the region of £1 million, is for the supply of its catering brand - Donegal Foods Frozen Chips. The products will be supplied via 3663, the UK's leading wholesaler and distributor and the sole supplier of catering products to Bourne Leisure in the UK.
Commenting on the deal, Ballymoney Foods Commercial Manager, John Weatherup "This is a vitally important development for Ballymoney Foods.
"Since our acquisition of Donegal Foods last year, the company has continued to strengthen its presence in the retail and food service markets throughout Ireland where our reputation for quality and value is firmly established.
"However, this new contract with Bourne Leisure dramatically increases our market share in the food service sector in GB and offers us the opportunity to fully maximise the potential of the Donegal Foods range in this key catering market."
