DIY Jobs Lost

Seventeen workers are set to lose their jobs when a DIY store in Co Laois closes its doors this weekend.

4Home Superstores is closing the outlet in Portlaoise on Sunday.

It says the decision was prompted by a drop in demand for home improvement products.

2,500 Jobs To Be Axed As Shoe Chain Closes
Around 2,500 jobs are being axed, after it was announced the parent company of high street shoe chains PriceLess and Barratts has been placed in administration. Bradford-based Stylo appointed Deloitte after they failed to find a buyer for the two chains.

Britvic Jobs Lost In Donegal
Much needed jobs are to be axed in Co Donegal. It has emerged that 22 workers are to lose their jobs in Ballyshannon as the town's Britvic facility closes down. The company has previously blamed the decision on the economic downturn. The firm became C&C/Britvic 12 years ago having originally been Mulligans Wines and Spirits.

Over 1,200 Jobs Lost As SR Technics Closes Doors
SR Technics, formerly Team Aer Lingus, which employs almost 1,200 people at Dublin Airport has announced it is to close.

67 Wicklow Jobs Lost As Health Farm Closes
Over 60 jobs are set to go at one of Ireland's longest running health farms. Wicklow's Powercourt Springs will close at the end of October. Workers are expected to enter into consultation with management over the next number of weeks. The announcement comes amid the sale of 42-acres at the Powerscourt estate, to an unnamed buyer.

200 jobs 'at risk' at Budget DIY stores
Around 200 members of staff at the five Budget DIY stores throughout Northern Ireland could be at risk after the company anounced that it had gone into administration. PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as administrators, and are expected to make an announcement on the situation later today.
