Cool FM and Downtown attract more listeners

Independent audience figures undertaken by Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR), has revealed that Downtown Radio and Cool FM now account for 17% of all radio listening in Northern Ireland.

The figures just published show that 378,000 people tune in to Downtown each week, 102,000 more than this time last year, while Cool FM's audience is up 52,000 at 364,000. The joint audience figure is up four per cent on a year ago.

Congratulating staff on both stations Managing Director, David Sloan said: "These figures are a great credit to our programming staff and I am delighted that our audiences appreciate the quality of our output."

The figures also showed that listeners tune in for an average of 11 hours every week.
