Man set alight during arson attack in Poleglass

A man is thought to have been set on fire during an arson attack on a house in Poleglass on the outskirts of Belfast.

The attack on the house in Colinbrook Gardens took place on Sunday night at around 11.20pm, when a group of three men approached the house. Petrol was poured over the front door and a plastic milk carton full of petrol was lit and thrown at the front of the house.

The occupants of the house, a woman and her two grown-up sons, were unharmed during the attack, but they reported seeing a man running away from the scene with his hands on fire.

The fire brigade were called to deal with the incident but no major damage was caused apart from minor scorch damage to the front of the house.

Police are investigating the attack and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
