Holiday Inn scoops top managers award
A local hotel manager has walked away with the coveted General Manager of the Year award presented at the recent Northern Ireland Branch of the HCIMA annual awards for professionalism at the Europa Hotel.
Winner, the General Manager at the Holiday Inn, Belfast, Adrian McLaughlin said: "I am extremely pleased about winning such a prestigious award. It is superb recognition of the hard work dedication and loyalty shown by every member of the team in the hotel and coming after only 18 months of trading is testimony to the professionalism of the hotel and everyone involved."
Originally from Ballymena, Adrian returned to Northern Ireland in March 2000 following a successful series of management appointments for Forte in London. He then became General Manager of the Holiday Inn Belfast (formerly Posthouse Premier Belfast) which opened in November 2000.
This award is the latest in a line of recent awards for the hotel which includes the Georgina Campbell award for top end cuisine, the IIP award and a highly commended certificate from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board for dedication to training.
Other success on the night included Stephen Issac reaching the final four of chef of the year, Jenny Carson and Eve Kerr were highly commended in the 'Aspiring Manager' category.

Dunadry Hotel Undergoing Multi-Million Pound Refurbishment
The Dunadry Hotel in Antrim is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment. A total of 21 additional jobs will be created due to the investment. McKeever Hotel Group is redeveloping the hotel's 80 bedrooms with £740,000 funding offered from Invest NI.
