Jayne Lands 'Minder' Role

Channel Five's successful remake of a classic 80s TV series is shortly to feature Northern Ireland-based talent.

Coleraine actress Jayne Wisener will be appearing later this month in one of the forthcoming episodes of the comedy Minder.

The TV series, which became a household favourite in the 1980s, originally stared George Cole as picaresque businessman Arthur Daley and Dennis Waterman as his 'minder' Terry, (pictured here).

The remake series - which has just started - features Shane Ritchie as the original Arthur Daley's nephew Archie while Lex Shrapnel, playing sidekick Jamie, revives the role of the Minder.

Episode Four which is entitled 'A Matter of Life and Debt' is to feature Jayne.

"It was unbelievable working on that show. I had the best time and every morning I was getting up really early because I was so excited and couldn't wait to get to work.

"Shane Ritchie was hilarious and really lovely too. I play a Northern Irish character in the show, so you won't miss me," joked Jayne.

The former Coleraine High School pupil's career is really blossoming with a part in Johnny Depp hit movie 'Sweeney Todd' and rave reviews from the West End production of musical 'Parade' already under her belt.

'A Matter of Life and Debt' will be screened on Channel Five on Wednesday, February 25.
