Award-winning retailer takes over Lisnaskea SPAR
A long-time member of the grocery trade, John McCaffrey, a native of Derrylin, along with his wife Ann, have recently returned to their native Fermanagh, where they have taken over ownership of the long-established Connolly’s SPAR Supermarket in Lisnaskea.
The SPAR in Lisnaskea is a 3,000 sq. ft. Millennium SPAR store, which offers its customers an extended range of grocery, chilled frozen and fresh produce. There is a Hot-Food Bar, with food cooked in-store daily, an in-store bakery, with bread baked fresh every morning, and a serve-over Deli, offering a wide range of fish and meat products from suppliers in the area.
For the couple, who have spent over 20 years in Belfast, it is the fulfilment of an ambition to return home. They are delighted with the support of the staff and the warm welcome they have received from customers.
Over the years, John has achieved considerable success in the grocery trade, commencing back in 1987 when he was the first ever winner of “Supermarket Manager of the Year”. At that time, John was manager of Dunnes Stores, Parkgate in Belfast. Previous to that, he worked for Wellworths and began his career in the grocery trade with Lipton’s in Enniskillen, in 1968. More recently, he was manager of the multi-award winning Brackenvale SPAR, in Belfast and will strive to continue this success in his own SPAR.
Convenience to the customer is of paramount importance to the new owners of the SPAR and a number of services, required by the busy convenience shopper, are now available at the SPAR.
John and Ann aim to continue to offer the high quality of convenience shopping to their customers, which the Connolly family provided for many years at the SPAR in Lisnaskea.
