Investigation on arson attack at Lurgan school

An investigation is underway into what police believe was an overnight arson attack at a school in Lurgan last night.

The fire was started at St Paul’s in Frances Street and the alarm was raised around 4.40am.

It is understood a canteen and school van were damaged in the blaze.

Pupils are advised that the school will be closed on Tuesday 28 May except for Year 12s, who will sit a GCSE exam as planned.

Investigation Launched After Reports Of Shots Fired In L'Derry
Police have launched an investigation following reports a number of shots were fired in L'Derry. The incident is believed to have happened in the Old School Lane area on Wednesday, 31 May. Police were contacted by members of the public, however there were no reports of any injuries or damage to properties.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack In Lurgan
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack at a house in Lurgan. The blaze at a property in Castle Lane Mews was reported at around 9.10pm on Sunday, 08 May. Police believe the fire was started deliberately in the living room. No-one was in the house at the time, however significant damage was caused.

Former School Damaged In Suspected Arson Attack
Police have appealed for information following a suspected arson attack on a former high school in Newtownabbey over the weekend. A number of mobile classrooms were extensively damaged by a fire at the disused Newtownabbey Community High School on Rathcool Drive during the afternoon of Saturday, 17 June.
