International Deal Is Good News On Jobs

An Omagh-based engineering company has secured its first orders from South America and North Africa, totalling almost £400,000.

Telestack International, which is a longstanding Invest Northern Ireland client, will supply a high capacity shiploader to the Port of Coquimbo in Chile and a barge loader to Egypt.

The deals mean that Telestack has achieved sales in all major continents in the last year.

Invest NI Chief Executive Leslie Morrison, during a recent visit, congratulated the company on its success: "Global trading conditions in manufacturing sectors have rarely been as challenging as they are at present but lucrative opportunities still exist for innovative firms that have a strong export focus.

"Fundamental to Telestack's success has been the culture of innovation embedded throughout the organisation which Invest NI has helped to nurture through a range of R&D and other practical support.

"This has enabled the company to develop leading edge products for the materials handling sector placing the company in a competitive position globally and further developing its reputation for quality and service," he commented.

Malachy Gribben, Telestack's Commercial Director, said: "We are delighted to have secured these breakthrough deals in Egypt and Chile. Invest NI has, over the last number of years, helped us to grow our export capability by assisting us to develop products that are reliable, perform to the highest standards and are also easily shipped.

"This support has been complemented by export marketing assistance and participation on trade missions which have given us greater exposure than ever to potential global customers," he explained.
