BT Solutions to create 25 new jobs
BT is creating up to 25 new jobs with the setting up of a new broadband solutions division in Belfast.
The new division, called BT Solutions, is a strategic bid by BT to gain more of the burgeoning ICT market for broadband solutions for medium to large businesses. The division will be going head-to-head with other providers in the sector with its delivery of tailored broadband solutions for telecommunications.
At the launch, Alastair Hamilton, Director of BT Solutions, said the division would be offering a complete set of solutions to major businesses and the public sector in Northern Ireland.
He said that in the past the ICT provision by BT had been fragmented, but that from now on BT Solutions would be handling the process from start to finish.
Mr Hamilton said that he expected growth in the ICT sector to be driven by the increasing demand for services requiring broadband technology that would enable businesses to improve productivity and competitiveness.
Although there has been a downturn in the sector he maintained that the time was right to launch BT Solutions into this competitive marketplace and that the new approach would have an immediate impact on the lucrative market for broadband service provision.
