Motorists Warned Of Icy Conditions
Motorists across Northern Ireland have been warned of treacherous road conditions in parts of the country as temperatures are expected to reach a low of -6C over the next few days.
The Met Office said the cold weather is expected to persist into the week with widespread frost and temperatures plummeting.
AA Roadwatch has warned of icy conditions. Many parts of the country were affected by black ice and fog this morning.
Met Office forecaster, Kevin Hogg, said on Tuesday night into Wednesday temperatures will reach close to freezing and there could be some more icy conditions.
He said sleet is also expected in some areas but it is unlikely there will be large amounts of snow.

The UK Met Office has issued a 'yellow' warning for icy roads across Northern Ireland this weekend. Outbreaks of rain on Friday are to clear to scattered showers by evening, with rapidly-dropping temperatures leading to the development of icy stretches to on untreated surfaces, especially where sheltered from westerly winds.

Drivers are urged to avoid a busy north Belfast route as the icy weather makes conditions difficult. The PSNI has issued a warning for those in the vicinity of White Brae, off the Lionel Road. Officers say it's best to avoid the route completely due to treacherous driving conditions. Motorists should seek another route.
